"We were so impressed with the Cool Chilis performance at our Anniversary Event of the Park Theatre Civic Centre in North Vernon. They are not only talented with a wide variety of songs but they are true entertainers who keep the show moving and lively. They literally had the audience dancing in their seats and aisles. No one was disappointed and we will definitely have them back." Patti Yount Vice President of the Board of Directors Park Theatre Civic Centre 25 Madison Avenue North Vernon, Indiana

from: Thompson Wedding Review (Emma's Wedding A - Z)

Hi Mike & Fred, 6/2/2009 Thanks again for the great performance at Emma’s wedding. Cool Chilies was absolutely a fantastic choice for our event of a lifetime, and we are grateful for everything you did to make it so memorable, including the “surprise guest artist”. The ceremonial music was perfect, the dinner set could not have been more enjoyable, and I think you know how much everyone loved the dance sets by the reaction you got from young and old. It was great to see my parents get up and dance to some of your selections, and my dad hasn’t moved like that in years. I will gladly recommend Cool Chilies to anyone who is looking to have live entertainment for whatever purpose they need. You guys are incredibly versatile and so professional. I was truly impressed by that. Please feel free to have anyone contact me if you need to provide a reference. Jeff Thompson

from: Bluffton News-Banner review (Cool Chilies Band)

Kehoe Park has a nice open-air concert venue and Cool Chilies filled it Sunday night.

A crowd of approximately 300 came out to the banks of the Wabash to hear the Indianapolis-based band play a variety of tunes during a two-hour show.  The 11 musicians and singers covered a number of tunes from the 60's, 70's and 80's, showing some terrific musicianship and nice vocal harmony along the way.

The band makes no bones about its Latin influences, performing a song originally made popular by Selena, the queen of Tejano music and several numbers recorded by Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine.  However the show really hit its pace after intermission with a couple of songs from the group Chicago - "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" and "Make Me Smile" followed by an Estefan/Miami Sound machine number, "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You".  The band has a powerful horn section that really resounded on those numbers.  The show's finale was a rendition of "Tequilla" that gave the crowd another opportunity to join in.

The show marked a return visit to Bluffton for the Cool Chiies.  The Kehoe Park concert, one of a series, was sponsored in part by the Wells County Foundation.

"Cool Chilies rocked the evening as the Wells County Community celebrated, danced, swayed in their seats, and played their own maracas to the irresistible beat of the hottest cool group of summer."

Thank you from the Miracle Place Fiesta Friday committee. We were especially pleased with your music at this year's fundraiser and dinner dance in October. We so much appreciated your flexibility in suiting our function. We have a maximum crowd for the facility. Your attention to our sound requests were perfect. Background music during cocktails and dinner (never so loud as to interfere with conversation of our talkative attendees), and then matching the mood of the crowd, young and not quite so young, for dancing and partying afterward. Thank you! We hope to see you next year.

“I would like to thank you on behalf of Our Lady of Lourdes festival committee for your wonderful performance at our festival last fall. Cool Chilies was a welcome addition and we have received many compliments about your performance. Last year was the first time we had entertainment in several years and many people have requested that we have you back this coming fall. Your group was very professional and you certainly provided a high quality show. Everyone was impressed with the variety of music that your group played. We hope that your calendar will permit you to play at our festival this coming September. Thank you again for helping us make our festival a success.”

"Cool Chilies played at the reception of our Indianapolis wedding, and they were exceptionally good. We wanted music with a lot of flair that would keep people on the dance floor all night--and that's exactly what we got! Mike worked with me to put together a great song list, which included slow songs, contemporary rock, salsa, swing, and more. When this group of eleven talented musicians get together, the sound is phenomenal. We highly recommend!"

From: "Keeping Cool with the Chilies at the Fair" article published Saturday, July 30, 2005 -

"They play everything, they change it around so much that it's interesting." ...... John Szado, Elkhart

"It's real nice to hear this kind of music.  It's not very often to see a group play English and Spanish."  ...Jose Morales, Elkhart

"The rhythm got them all right.  Many audience members came to the fair for other reasons but stopped by when they heard the music.  Crowd members nodded their heads, tapped their feet and, in at least one case, played air guitar along with the solo."   ........Thomas Bona, columnist, The Truth, Elkhart, Indiana

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and the members of the Express Carriers Association I want to sincerely thank you for your fine performance during our Shipper Appreciation Dinner held Thursday April 22nd in your city. Initially some of the members of the Board were skeptical about the reception the band might receive because most promo materials listed you as a salsa band. Our group is predominantly male and there was a feeling that the type of music might not be well received. We were incorrect……..

The feedback received from the membership was very positive.  The music provided during dinner was relaxing and consisted of a wide variety of tunes. When the entire band joined the group after dinner, the audience was blown away by the tight sound of the brass and different varieties of offerings. By the time the evening had ended the entire group did not want to see you all go. We have never had so many people up dancing during one of our events. Several of our attendees commented on how “awesome” the band was.

Please convey our sincere appreciation to Cool Chilies and we look forward to having you entertain for us in the future.”
